Refund Policy

At Elite Book Publisher, we strive to ensure customer satisfaction with our services. However, due to the nature of our work, all payments made are generally non-refundable once a project has begun. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any approved refunds will be issued at the Company’s discretion.

While we strive for excellence in every project, we understand that circumstances may arise where a refund request is necessary. We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis, guided by the stage of service completion, the nature of the work performed, and the reason for cancellation. Refunds are not automatic and are subject to review and approval by Elite Book Publisher.

Our services are customized, labor-intensive, and often irreversible once initiated. Therefore, refund eligibility depends on whether tangible work has begun and how much time, effort, and resources have been invested.

We do not issue refunds simply due to a change of mind, dissatisfaction with creative direction (unless it violates our agreement), or delays caused by the client.

2. Refund Eligibility by Service Stage

Refund eligibility is determined by the progress of your project at the time of cancellation. The following stages define our refund structure:

Stage 1: Before Work Has Commenced

If you cancel your order before any work has begun and before any files have been assigned to a team member, you may be eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable processing fees (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for credit card or PayPal processing).

  • Example: You placed an order for editing but have not uploaded your manuscript or received a project kickoff email.
  • Refund Amount: 100% of service fee minus processing fees.
  • Processing Time: 7–14 business days after approval.

Stage 2: After Work Has Begun (Initiation Phase)

If your project has entered the initiation phase—including manuscript upload, project scoping, team assignment, or initial communication—you may be eligible for a partial refund.

At this stage, our team has already invested time in:

  • Reviewing your manuscript
  • Assigning editors, designers, or project managers
  • Creating project timelines
  • Setting up accounts or distribution profiles
  • Refund Amount: Up to 70% of the service fee, depending on the extent of preliminary work.
  • Deductions: Based on time spent and internal labor costs (billed at $75/hour or as documented).
  • Example: You submitted your manuscript and received a style guide, but no substantive editing has occurred.

Stage 3: During Active Service Delivery

If your project is actively in progress, such as editing underway, cover design drafts created, or formatting completed, refunds are significantly limited.

Work performed up to the cancellation date will be billed, and any remaining balance may be partially refunded at our discretion.

  • Refund Amount: Up to 30% of the total fee, depending on deliverables completed.
  • Deductions: Based on completed milestones, labor hours, and materials used.
  • No Refund for:
    • Completed editing passes
    • Finalized cover designs
    • Uploaded and distributed books
    • Audiobook narration recordings
    • Published websites

Stage 4: After Final Deliverables Are Provided

Once we have delivered final files (e.g., edited manuscript, print-ready PDF, audiobook master, website launch), no refunds will be issued, regardless of client satisfaction.

  • Reason: The service has been fully rendered, and intellectual labor is complete.
  • Exceptions: Only if there was a material breach of contract on our part (e.g., failure to deliver agreed services, gross negligence, or fraud).
  • Remedy: In such cases, resolution may include rework, corrections, or partial credit, not an automatic refund.

3. Service-Specific Refund Rules

Due to the nature of our offerings, certain services have unique refund considerations.

3.1 Publishing & Editing Services

  • Manuscript editing (developmental, copyediting, proofreading) is non-refundable once the editor begins work.
  • If you cancel after the first edit pass, you will be charged for all completed work.
  • No refund for formatting if the interior layout has been created.

3.2 Children’s Book Design

  • Illustration and design are highly customized. Once concept sketches or drafts are delivered, no refunds are issued.
  • If you cancel after receiving the first illustration draft, you may be charged a concept fee (25–50% of total design cost).

3.3 Book Printing

  • Print-on-demand orders are non-refundable once the book is printed and shipped.
  • Bulk printing orders may allow cancellation only before production begins.
  • If printing has started, no refund is possible due to material and labor costs.

3.4 Book Marketing Packages

  • Marketing campaigns involve third-party ad spend, content creation, and outreach.
  • If ads have been launched or content published, no refunds are issued.
  • If canceled before campaign launch, up to 70% refund minus setup fees.

3.5 Audiobook Narration & Publishing

  • Voice casting, studio time, and audio editing are irreversible.
  • Once narration begins, no refunds are available.
  • If canceled before casting, up to 80% refund.

3.6 Author Website Development

  • Website design includes custom coding, content integration, and domain setup.
  • After the first draft or wireframe is delivered, no refunds.
  • If canceled before design begins, up to 75% refund minus consultation fee.

4. Non-Refundable Fees

The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Credit card, PayPal, or payment processing fees
  • Third-party service costs (e.g., ISBN purchase, distribution setup, ad spend)
  • Consultation or project setup fees (if charged)
  • Rush or expedited service surcharges
